Another Weekend Gone By
I had a blast this weekend. It was Rachel's B-day yesterday, and we celebrated with pecan pie and a cookout, and much fun was had by all. Nicholas and Will came over, and after dinner we had a pillowfight/wrestling match, where sometimes it was all for self, and sometimes there were teams, but the only team that was clearly defined, was girls not hitting each other with pillows. The boys sometims play gang up on us, and sometimes hit eachother, and Rachel and I took turns hitting both boys. After a rousing good time, we headed up to the Gopher Spot to play pool and air hockey. Great fun! We played teams, sometimes Rachel and I, sometimes Will and I, and once, Nicholas and I...There were many laughs to be had, and a chalk fight too. On the way back, we did cartwheels in the mall area (grassy spot) and stole Will's hat til he would do one too.
Saturday I went climbing, passed the lead test, and then went to a movie. Saw The Core. Wasn't sure if it was going to be good or silly, but it ended up being funny, and pretty good. The writers read throught the books of physics long enought to pick the fun stuff, and through the rest of the laws out the window. Oh well. I don't care, it was a movie...
So, now we're back to school. Upcoming on schedule...Murder Mystery dinner Saturday night at Lance's hosted by Erin and her friend. Major project due, major lab due, this week. Next week, more labs, a midterm, and on Saturday both the FE and V-ball. I have my dress, I have to get my hair cut, and I have to figure out with Will how we're going to manage to do all this, cause I think we'll probably carpool, and I think he has to work. I don't know. We'll see. I am not to worried about anything right now, I should be, but I don't hav e the energy to have fun, not get sick, get things done, and stress at the same time, and there's not much I can do about it anyway. So...we'll see. For now, i have to get back to my homework.

Man, do I feel stupid!!!
So, I have been climbing for a while now, and I try to achieve more and more eeach time I go there, climb just a little cleaner on this route, or actually make it up "that one" without having issues...and I thought I was ready. I thought, "hey, I can lead climb, I'm good enough now." I wondered if I had the stamina to do a long 5.9 climb...which is what you have to be able to do to take the lead test, but I figured...I'll blunder through. So, I warm up, I practice mock leading, EVERYONE in the gym knows I'm going to take this test, I'm ready, I know everything right?
WRONG!!!
I fucked it up. I felt so STUPID! I wasn't mad at the guy for failing me, I fucked up, but I can't believe I did it. I back clipped the first clip. What does this mean, you ask? It means I've done something I've never done before. It means I fail. It means, clipping the rope into the quickdraw backwards. It means stupid fucking mistake!
That was Wednesday. After feeling like a fool for abotu 30 min, I went back to climbing thinking I'd take the test on Friday. Yesterday, being friday, I went to do it again. At first, I just didn't want to. Then, I was ready to, but there was noone around to do it. Then someone could, but they got busy. I waited for about 3 hrs, and didn't even get to test. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, today is try number three, hopefully I get to test, hopefully I pass, and don't fuck up, cause the little butterflies are coming back with a vengence. I still don't know if I have the stamina to get tot he place on the route I need to. Well, here goes nothing, or something, I guess...

Funny Happenstance of the week:
Friday when I was home, my brother told me that some guy named Matt had left a note on his car, saying they should train for biking together, he should call him. At the end of the note, it said, have your sister call me too. My curiosity was aroused. He thought it was a different Matt, but as I had never heard of that one, I asked if it was a Matt I've known since I was in 8th grade and he in 7th. He wasn't sure, but had to leave, and told me he'd find the note later. I said ok. --skip ahead to that night-- I was headed out to Wertle's with my mom and dad, as stated in the entry below, and when I got back the note was sitting on the counter. I was like, hm, worth a shot, so I called, got the machine, and left a message. I had drank a bit more than I planned, enough to make me tired, not enought to be drunk in any fashion, so after one more cider (hehe) I went to bed. Matt called at 12:30, but Troy answered the phone and didn't think I was awake, so he took a msg.
Saturday, I called Matt back, and left a msg. with my cell number, and went and did my stuff. That night, he called back...ok Pat called, using the number he got from Matt, and I had to spend some time trying to think of his name, cause he wouldn't give it to me, and I haven't seen him since senior year of high school, aka 4 yrs, and he was a sophomore then. So I talked to him, and then to Matt, and then to Pat, and we made plans to do something later, whenever that would be. After watching the Banger Sisters, I got a call back, and Matt was coming to pick me up to go to Jerry's house in about 10 min. NO warning. I got ready in a flash. Between Matt calling back and the movie, I had gotten ahold of Katie, and was going to meet them dancing later that night, so I had to do something that fit the both sitting at someone's house, and going out genre. Matt got there, and I asked him if he wanted to go out dancing too, and he was game, so we went to Jerry's for a bit. Jerry is married with a daughter now, and a year or 2 yougner than me...weird...
After his place for a while, we went to Matt's to get dancing clothes, then out downtown. Met Katie and Jenny A. and Mike and Nate, and went to Kittner's for a shot, and then to the Velvet Room, where we couldn't enter right away cause some girl had passed out and the medics were getting her out. Then we went in there, had another drink, and danced a bit. All but Matt and I left to go back to Mike's, and Matt and I went on to Maloney's for darts and more drinks. We stayed there til bar time, and then headed back to my place. His car was there, so he got his car, and we told each other we'd be in touch, and that was that. Whether or not we are, that is the question. He's great to hang with, but I think activities are better--like bike rides and such, rather than "going out" to the bars or something. I grew up, he didn't. And to think, I had a crush on him in 8th grade. Oh well, GOOD thing that's gone:) He's in Plattville or GB, and I'm in MN. Not likely to see each other again in a good long time. Still, it was nice to play catch up, learn about the old Gang.
Lesson learned....People from your past can pop up when you least suspect them too, and it's not always a bad thing.

Spring Break Ends...School Again
Another week has passed, and so there are more stories to tell. Last week was spring break. I worked. (Some break, huh) I climbed, (nothing new there), and I went home for the weekend. At first, I wasn't going to. I then found out I could get into the doctor I needed to see. (No worries, I'm not dying) So, away to GB I went. It was an interesting weekend. I had a nice evening with my parents Friday, after going to the doctor. We went to Wertle's and got fish...yummy. I had scallops actually, and lots of amaretto sours and grasshoppers. Then Saturday I went climbing at Vertical Stronghold with Mo, and we saw an interesting sign with a cowboy on it that had cactus around it on the way to Appleton, and she thought it was advertising lingerie. I still have to get back to her on that one. Find out what it was really advertising. Climbed some stuff there I used to have issues with…and found some new evil routes. Brian is an evil route setter, worse than Andy at VE. There were a few groups of boy scouts there who thought that Mo and I were hot. Yup, we’re now getting hit on by the 11-16 year olds. Man do I feel OLD!!! Oh well, they were funny, because I remember groups of girls my age (and dare I say, me included) pulling the group, “our friend likes you” game. So we laughed and tried not to hurt their feelings, after all, it’s not often you have a group of 10-12 boys (of any age) doting on you. : P
I went shopping with my mom when I got home from climbing, though we didn’t have much time cause my aunt and uncle stopped. I did manage to find a pair of shorts to use for climbing and a new swimsuit for the summer, one piece, for play. My other one had…elastic issues. It was 8 years old though, so it deserves retirement. That night I ate supper with Mom and Dad and we watched The Banger Sisters. It was a good movie, not really what I expected, but still good. My mom wasn’t expecting it either, but what can I say, she should have expected it with a name like "Banger Sisters" and she did see the preview. They are off to Montana this week, so while I go to school and take tests, they get to ski and go to the pubs and have fun. :( I wish!!! I got back to MN later Sunday afternoon, and decided I needed to go do something, so Jen and I went to go see Bringing Down the House. It was a good movie, exactly what I needed for my mood, nothing to think about--just mindless comedy. I enjoyed it.
Monday I finally got my um, bum, in gear and got my passport, my international student card, and my plane ticket for London this May. More about that later, when I have more details. The dates are nailed down now though, Leave Tuesday May 20, come back Thursday June 5, two weeks and a bit more of hiking, touring, site seeing, and fun in England, Scotland, and Ireland. That reminds me, I have to get in touch with the “cousins” in Ireland and see if they will be around. I’d like to meet them.

What Glorious Weather!
I was outside all weekend, well, I tried to be. On Friday I went climbing, and then to Lance's to watch a movie. Saturday, I was actually able to sleep in, not something I have done in a while, and then I cleaned my car--inside and out. Then I decided my room needed to be rearranged and a new curtain put up, so I did that. Then I went the hockey game-Gophers vs. Mich. Tech. Huskies. Gophers kicked bum, and it was a great game to watch! Got home and Anna was over for the weekend so she and Jen and I drank cosmopolitans and talked girl talk. Great good fun.
Sunday I got up and went to REI to get new climbing shoes. They are green, and 4 cm smaller than my old ones (about 1 3/4 in smaller for you English Unit people) They fit really tight, and it's going to be *fun* to break them in (ouch my poor feet) but once they are broken in, I'm really going to enjoy them. Much nicer fit than my old ones. Lance and Will helped me to pick them out, since I'm still new at this whole gear getting thing. We looked at other camping stuff for the trip this summer, and then it was such a beautiful day we decided to go hiking at Afton. It was a nice hike, but really really muddy. We climbed some trees, and then threw rocks at the ice on the river trying to break it. We had enough rocks piled in one area to weigh more than the three of us combined, and still it didn't break, but I didn't really expect it to. (geek that I am, I had already mentally decided what types of forces we would need to break said section of ice, and we just weren't applying them). Got back to Lance's and then headed to Nate's eat brats on the Grill, and salad. Watched Office Space (I love that movie) and then went home and to bed. All in all a nice weekend.

Excitement abounds!
Today is a great day. I woke up tired, and didn't want to move around much. I got to work and worked for three hours. Then, the email came! Rachel had dates and times for our plane tickets to England!!!!! I responded what times worked for me, and hten she went and booked them. It's official, we're headed to England. From there it's to Scotland and Ireland. We'll be backpacking, and staying in hostels. Carrying everything we bring with us on our backs. Easy to move from one point to another. we'll each pack a day pack to go sight seeing, and take a bigger pack for the actual stuff. I'm going to need to pack a carryon bag for stuff, empty here, fill it with goodies there. We'll be going from May 20-June 5. It will be so much fun! I can't wait. I have to get a lot of stuff in order before that. There is the FE and all my clases, and finding out what we want to DO when we are there, and all that. I have to get a passport yet, and an international student card. Oh, so much to do! I can't wait.
Went to see Sue Generis and DNA last night with Chris. It was great! The show rocked! Sue Generis rocked out harder than I've seen them do before, the energy was just on! I danced my bottom off. Then after a short break, dna came on, and did EVERYTHING--in chronilogical order. That was something to see and hear. The energy! WOW, I couldn't believe it. I had Ian's mike stand right in front of me, so I had to be careful with my dancing as to not hit him in the mouth, and/or knock it over. I was good, there was no knocking over of the mic. I am sore today thought, way to much dancing. Still, I wouldn't have missed it. I got dna's new two song sampler, featuring a dance remix of Dirge, and their knew one, Another Day. The new one rocks, and well, Dirge the dance remix is great too, funny, dancy, and just---it suits. You have to hear it. They are selling the CD's for $3. Worth it, believe me!
It's spring break now, I'm heading climbing tonight, and then the weekend. DOn't know what is going on there yet. I hope something fun. THen it's a week of work, and fun. I have to do some homework, but we'll see what it is that I do. Renae and Graham are coming Wed., Jenni will be here til then, Erin will be back Thurs or Friday, and Lance and Will should be around all week, so I'll manage to keep busy. Chris will be here with Jenny, and Rachel is gone all week. I don' t know what is all going to occur, but I bet whatever does will be interesting and fun. Oh, and Renae, I have a suprise for you when you get here!
For now, have a good weekend/week, and I'll write when I can!

Again with the waiting a long time to post. Not my fault though, I have been busy. I am climbing 3-5 days a week, getting in shape takes time and energy. I'm skiing more often, and going this weekend in fact. I'm also getting overwhelmed with school. I can't believe how much work this semester is, I thought it would be a sort of slack-off one. Not so much! I have Rhet, which is much reading and writing, and Water Management, which is way more work that it's 3 credit designator. I dont' know how it's legal to make it that many credits--it should be worth at least 5. Ecology isn't so bad, and neither is Safety Engineering. Senior design is picking up in the work load, and I sitll have my IDL class that I haven't started. I'm asking for an extension today.
An update from last time, I'm not playing broom ball anymore, I don't have time for yet another sport and they have enough women. Besides, it's fun, but not my cup of tea, I'd play hockey, but not that. I'm still bruised all over from various things, but no big bruises on my posterior anymore. The one from skiing finally went away. Maybe I'll get a new one this weekend ;) Hopefully not though.
Next week thursday is the down and above/sue generis show at St. Thomas. I can't wait for that one, and I'm trying to get everyone I know to go! There is also the annual Boiled in Lead show at 1st Ave on St. Patrick's Day. I'll have to see who wants to go with me for that one, but I'm not sure who will want to. Chris, maybe, he's always up for a good show, and maybe Will, and we'll see who else. It's a 21+ show though, so yeah. Rachel would go, but she'll be gone having fun without me, while I work all spring break. Well, not ALL of spring break. Renae and Graham are coming up maybe that last few days, so I'll chill with them and have fun, and there is always climbing and movie nights.
Ok, I should, **should** go do homework now. A neverending pasttime, but I have to get at it.

It's Almost two weeks after my last entry. I'm still sore. I went skiing yesterday and had a collision with one of the people I was skiing with. Oops, we're both ok from what I know of, just sore. I hope she's not to mad at me, I was falling and so kinda out of control. My bottom is bruised. I love sitting on hard campus chairs when it's not fun to sit.
I'm going climbing tonight again, like normal for a monday night and then I'm going to go play broom ball. The team needs me, or something. We have to have 2 girls to play for the team every week cause we're a coed team. So I have that going on. I have a lot to do for school too. I want a break now, not in a month. I suppose I should go eat some lunch or something. I'm going to go find some pads for broomball. My elbow is still sore from two weeks ago too. Oh well. More later.

I never new I could hurt this much...physically! It's not to bad, I spose, it's just been a while since my youth where climbing trees, and falling out of them was normal. Oh, and don't forget the falling off the bike, the wrestling with cousins, and the other dings and scrapes you get as a kid. I have many of them again, for acting like a kid with my activities, but none of that childish resistance to it. I played broomball for the first time last night. FUN, but painful. I want the nice real shoes that they wear, or at least elbow pads and knee pads. My elbow is so sore that I can't set it down anywhere, except fuzzy things, and I can't put weight on it when I do put it on fuzzy things. For example, lifting myself off the loveseat using my elbow---nope! My knee has a bruise on top of an bruise, on top of a bruise. Forgot that was possible too. It's pretty colors. My chins aren;t so bruised from skiing anymore, but my hip and leg still are from other activities of mine--like climbing. Sheesh!
Tonight is the first night I really haven't done much lately. I am doing homework (blogging is writing, and I have a rhetoric class, which this has nothing to do with, but I'm pretending that blogging is also homework), I'm doing housework...well thinking about doing housework. And, I'm seriously considering a nap! I know, it's already 6:30 at night, but I'm tired, and I deserve one! Ok, before I talk myself into a nap and out of the homework and such I had planned for this eveing I had better either say something here or go away and actually start. My am I a good procrastinator! Ooh, and I have to move my car tonight. Ok, I'm going to go do homework. Goodbye for now from this slightly flighty writer!

Updates galore!
Didn't do very much homework this weekend, BAD me! I had fun instead. I have to live right?!? (really, you should agree with me on this one, expecially anyone who has to go to something that begins with the letter C during the week!) So I had much fun. Friday I went climbing and then went to Lance's to work on my skis. 2.5 hours later they were ready to be played upon. Saturday I went skiing with Lance and Erin and Will, and then Lance's sister and Dad met us later. Skied for 12 hours, or rather, had boots on for that long. Good fun. I had a blast. Erin and Will had never skied before, but each caught on pretty well, and both want to go again-so yay. First half of the day was mostly green runs and everyone getting used to the snow again. I had an...experience...with a snow board. It was fun to try, but I didn't make it very far, cause the boots didn't fit the binding right, so I decided to use it as a sled instead. All the way down, speed, excitement, danger (those little orange fences can sneak up on you). Then I put it away and went back to skiing. Sunday I went to breakfast with Will and Lance and Erin, and then I made banana bread, and then I went to the Seconds Before, Casanatra, and Down and Above show at the 7th Street Entry. Great times!!! Went to the early show because I had stuff to do taht night, and wanted to go to bed early, and it was nasty icky weather out. (Although snow is beautiful and makes skiing more fun, I do not like driving in it with the wonderful idiocy passes for thought of some Minnesota drivers.) I had never seen Seconds Before or Casanatra before, and I have decided I like both, and will go see more of their shows. Down and Above played great again, as usual, and I loved the new song!!! No title yet I guess, but much energy and a bit of a different style. A good thing, I tend to lose interest in bands that can't or won't evolve. Next weekend I'm going to the Sue Generis show at the Hole on campus. That should be great too. (And don't forget the climbing, skating, skiing, lifting weights, homework, chillin, and procrastinating that has to happen between now and then) Hehe, I should really learn to budget my time better....Like eating or doing homework right now instead of blogging. Oh well, here's to Carpe Diem!

Well, two weeks of school are now complete! Time flies. I have more homework that is nice to give at this point in the semester and 90 percent of it comes from Nieber's class! The dork! You'd think he'd realize that he is not the only prof we have. I can't believe how much time he's making us put into lab and homework for his class. Then ontop of that, I have a rhetoric class which wants a bunch of writing to happen. Ecology had reading to do, and so does safety. Senior design is just loads of work. I don't care though. I have a life for once this semester, well I did last semester too, but it was mostly just a weekend life, and this life is an all the time life, and I'm not giving it up!
So two weeks is a short amount of time, but with everything that has happened, I feel like it's mid-semester already! Here's to crazy lives, I'll sleep when I'm dead!

Goodbye, Tracker. How I enjoyed you and your ability to know who came to my site. Though you were a usefull friend and I am saddened to part with you, it must be done. You have caused to many runtime errors in your day, and always in mulitiples of three. So, to thee, I say, goodbye, and goodluck tracking other peoples traffic. :(
Second day of classes is over, and yet more homework was given. I have to work on it, but I think I'll take a nap or something first. I have to clean the house again, and I have to work on work for work...(wow, yeah...um, wow), I was up late last night working on my journal, which I've promised myself I would write in everyday even if it's to say "I'm tired and can't write more than these words".
My whole body aches. I was skating last night, and I am good at falling! I think i managed to bruise something vital. I woke up this morning very sore. It was the good kind of sore though. The kind where you are happy to be achy cause you know that you were working out and getting in shape. (the bruises are pride wounds, and I'm happy about each of them! And yes, I realize I'm a bit off my rocker for thinking this!) I'm going to go skating again tonight, even though it is more than a little cold! It will make me stronger. And I will probably fall even more. This time though, I will have done 10, count them, 10 turns from frontwards to backwards off of my left skate in a clockwise direction!!!. (I'm not all that specific, really) I am going to work on stopping on my left skate too. I don't ask for much. Speed skating and power turns will probably be worked on as well. Not that you care what I'm goign to work on, or the play by play of my cold evening outdoors, but it's my blog and I can write what I want!
So far, classes are nice. Senior design won't be as hectic, Neiber's Water Management Engineering seems to be a lot of stuff I've seen before, and Ecology has a cool prof and not to hard of material, even though it's a lot of reading. I don't know about Rhetoric yet....we'll see from 5:30 to 8PM tomorrow night! I talked to Prof. Shutske about the Safety and Ethics Special Problems for 3 credits I'm taking with him, and we'll meet mondays from 1-2:30 so that is nice, only an hour and a half and it will probably be really independent. A few others from the dept. are going to take it with me so we can facilitate discussions and the like. Should be interesting and fun (I hope). So, this semester isn't going to be as bad as I feared. Oh, I'm sure that it won't go as fast as I want it to, and way faster than it should, but that happens every semeseter, expecially in spring. I can't believe I'll be done in 2 semesters. I think I'll pull the blankets over my head, and shut out the world. I don't want to think about a real joba nd a non college apartment and the rest of my life at this point. It's depressing. So I'll just pretend I'll be a student with my summers off forever as long as I can.
Well, I'm in a writing mood and I have so much I could say, but I think I have written enough for right now. I am going to work on some poetry, and see if I can't figure out the last two lines of lyrics that I wrote down...somewhere,...and I know the idea of, but just can't THINK of right now!!!. There is also a new poem or song floating about my head just itching to be written on paper. I'll keep you updated.

First day = complete!!!
It went rather well, and fast, and I know it will get harder. I got homework today! SUCK! I don't like homework and not on the first day. I have done that kind of plroblem before, hydrology, soil analysis water stuff, but grrr, I don't want to do it yet. I think I'm going to go ice skating here in a bit. It's cold, but it will be a good workout and I want to workout! I gots to go get ready for that.
Later!

It's the night before classes begin, and I'm really confused. I don't feel like classes are going to start tomorrow. There is none of that anticipation, the feeling that something new and different is about to happen. There is no picking out my outfit for tomorrow, no caring who new will be in my classes. None of it. I suppose I've been so busy these last two weeks with work and friends that I just didn't notice the day sneaking up on me, but it'd be pretty hard to miss. I think I've begun to reach my school saturation level. This is a bad thing. I usually get this way about 3/4 way into a semester not the first day. I'll have to make sure I work hard at school and don't let my grades slip at all. I have a lot to get done this semester, and maybe that is why I feel this way. I have senior design to finish, and I feel that it will be hard to do. I have my Rhet class to work on, and I have an IDL class I have three months to finish, and I won't have too much of my weekends to work with. I have a directed studies class which will be much out of class work. I still have 4 jobs I'm working at and between them I'll be putting in about 30 hours of work a week. Good for money, bad for studies. I also have a couple groups of people who I'm friends with who differing things on the weekend and I have to be able to do all of them! I go to shows with Chris and other people we both know. I go to hockey games with Beth and other people we know, and Now I go climbing and skating with Will and Lance and Erin. Then there is hanging with the roommates, and chilling with Katie when I go visit her, which I will this semester, and chillin in Green Bay with people there, and I have to get to Madison this semester, and there are other people here in the cities that I chill with. I know that if I'm not careful I'll end up burning out this semester.
So here's to this semester, may it be good, and great, and may I find the time to get everything done! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Well, I am supposed to write about what I did over the last month so here it is:
At home:
Slept a bunch. I hung out with Katie all the time wich was super cool. We finished our game of Baulder's Gate on PS2 and then worked on our Baulder's Gate 2 game on PC. I saw the family a bunch over the few days around Christmas time. For New Years Katie and I went to Hinterland Brewery to listen to Scotty play, and then we met Joe and went back to my place, nothing exciting happened. I went climbing twice and Rachel was up for the last weekend.
Here:
Working mostly. I can't believe I've been back and working for a week and a half. At the PCA mostly, but I did put in about 5 hrs at the helpline (ooh five hours) I know I know (I'm actually typing this from the helpline cause I can't seem to find any other time to make entries). I have a busy week. I worked from 8-8 on Monday and Wed. Tuesday I went out, Thursday I'm going out, though where and with who I'm not yet certain. Friday I'm going out, Saturday I'm going out, and Sunday I'm not sure again. Monday is a holiday and so I don't have to go to work (yay!!!) and then Tuesday is the first day of class :(
I have been climbing a lot more lately. I'm really excited. I liked climbing before this year, but I lost my climbing group, so until just now I haven't really been doing that much. But I'm back at it, and have been building up my hand strength and getting better. Erin climbs now, so I can climb with her when we're both in GB and around here otherwise.
Spring semester starts on Tuesday, in some ways I'm not ready for it, but in others...it's time. I have a year left, and I'd rather just like to start. There are only 15 weeks in this semseter, and I forsee it going very very fast. I have 4 classes that I'm going to be in, and two that I don't have to actually go to, but I have to finish. I have three jobs for sure that are going to occupy a lot of time, and people to see and concerts to go too. I am going to be one busy Tricia! That is it for now, I have to leave work and go get the cleaning done at home, and then go to THE BED!
Sweet Dreams

OK, so it's been almost a month. I finished finals and then went home for break, and then I came back, and it's already wednesday and I haven't updated. I plan to talk about what I did over break and what classes I'm taking and what things I did for fun soon, but I don't have time just yet. So for now. I'm back, I'm alive, and I'll be writing a lot more in the future. Look for updates on yet another blog...coming soon:)
